Yeddyurappa gets anticipatory bail

The Karnataka High Court today granted anticipatory bail to the former Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa and his family members with respect to two complaints lodged against him relating to the alleged irregularities in denotification of government lands.
Justice H. Billappa allowed the bail applications moved forward by Mr. Yeddyurappa, his two sons B.Y. Raghavendra and a Lok Sabha member B.Y. Vijayendra and his son-in-law Sohan Kumar who had apprehended arrest in two private complaints filed against them in the Lokayukta Special Court.
The court while granting them bail, also asked them to furnish an amount of Rs. 2 lakhs as bond and two sureties for a like sum.
Advocate Sirajin Basha had filed complaints against B.S. Yeedyurappa alleging denotifications of land illegally to his family members.
Mr. Yeddyurappa had earlier secured bail in two out of the five complaints regarding the alleged illegal denotification of government lands.
