Couple ends life in Goa, satisfied with life

A young couple working in the IIT industry committed suicide by hanging themselves at their residence in Merces, outside Panaji. The decomposed bodies were later on found out by the Old Goa Police on Thursday night after the neighbours complained of a foul smell emerging from the flat.
Police suspects the couple as Anand -39 years and Deepa Ranthidevan -36 years from South India committed suicide three days ago. The police said that they had checked out of a 5-star resort, where they were staying for the last two months, on October 3.
A suicide note hand written in English, signed by the couple and dated October 3, states that the couple ended their lives of their own free will and no one should be held responsible or accountable for it.
Police sources said that the couple removed the ceiling fan in the drawing room and hanged themselves to a rope tied to the hook. The sources suspect that the couple stood together on a stool and tied themselves with one end of the rope each and then pushed away the stool.
The single page suicide note stated that they lived a very happy and eventful  life together. The note added that, they travelled all around the world, earned a lot of money more than they ever thought could be possible. And they have the right to choose to die as much as they have the right to live.
The note further mentions that the couple leaves no debts or liabilities behind. There is a list of their properties, including a jointly-owned flat, attached to the suicide note. They have also kept their last will and testament with respect to their belongings, duly signed by them.
The police sources said that the suicide note also stated that their bodies has to be cremated in the government electrical crematorium after informing the families. Also they have kept Rs. 10,000 in cash in an envelope to be used towards expenses for cremation.
Police have sent the bodies for post-mortem to Goa Medical College and Hospital and intimated the relatives of the deceased.
