The sexual assault case filed against the former IMF Chief Dominique Strauss Kahn is on the verge to collapse, as the prosecutors to reveal to a New York court their doubt about the character credibility of the accused. Speculations that the charge against the former IMF Chief could be dropped came after a report that investigators had unearthed troubling details about the victims background that could damage her credibility. Lawyers for Strauss Kahn were to ask for his bail conditions to be eased, given fresh disclosures about the hotel maid. Although forensic reports, adds evidence to the fact that there have been a sexual encounter between Strauss Kahn and the 32 year old lady, prosecutors have become sceptical about what she told them about the incident and herself. The discoveries include issues stemming from the asylum application of the woman and possible links to criminal activities such as drug dealing and money laundering. As per a newspaper report, it has been found out that since from the initial allegation on May 14, she has been lying. The newspaper also reported that the prosecutors and the Strauss Kahn lawyers were discussing to drop the felony charges filed against him. Strauss Kahn had resigned from the post of IMF Chief after he had been charged with attempted rape and unlawful imprisonment. Under relaxed bail conditions agreed to be by the prosecution, Strauss Kahn, he is allowed to travel freely in the US but not abroad. Strauss Kahn's lawyers reported that, the court hearing was to include a request for "substantial modifications" |
