Opera started teasing its fans from the weekend with a simple Opera Next page saying “Coming very soon: The next generation in mobile browsing”, and then two days ago announced the product to be Opera Mini 5.
Today, Opera Mini 5 Beta was released for public to download and try to see what the next generation mobile browser has in store for us!
I’ve tried it on my Nokia E71 and Nokia N96 – and I must say, it’s way faster now with lots of new features that I’ll mention below. Apart from all the latest features in Opera Mini 5, I would like to mention the top features of the browser:
- Tabbed browsing – Browse several Web sites at the same time. Jump easily from one to another.
- Speed Dial – Your favorite sites are just one click away.
- Touch & Keypad – The interface optimizes the display for both touchscreen and keypad phones.
- Password manager – Log on to your e-mail, social network and other sites with just one click.
Opera Mini 5 beta is completely free to download and works with almost all devices having MIDP 2.1 to run Java apps.
