Disable the burning and the auto tray ejection features in Windows 7 [How to]

Windows 7 comes with a couple of default features which let burn and write any DVD and CD without the need to use any third-party application. Specifically, Windows 7 is able to burn any files and any ISO or IMG image. Furthermore, when the user double-click on the optical drive in Windows Explorer, the system eject the CD or DVD drive tray. If you find these features annoying because you want to use your own burning software or just because you want to limit the access of the burning feature to other users using your computer, here is a simple hack to turn-off, disable and uninstall the burning option from Windows 7.
  1. Click Start.
  2. In the Search box, type gpedit.msc and click Enter.
  3. Go to Local Group PolicyUser ConfigurationAdministrative TemplatesWindows Components.
  4. Now, Select Windows Explorer.
  5. In the right pane, double click on Remove CD Burning features and click the Enable radio button to disable the burning feature.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Restart your Computer
