Windows 8 Boots faster than Windows 7

LinkWindows 8 News & TipsMicrosoft just announced that the Upcoming Windows 8 OS will boot considerabley faster then the Windows 7 OS.In Windows 8 some improvements are done by analyzing the power transitions of W7 laptops & desktops.In this chart Microsoft found that 45% laptop users & 57% desktop users running W7 .Their shuting down there system instead of putting them to Sleep or Into Hibernation.
This chart shows that cold booting or restarting the operating system will takes longer time than resuming the computer from sleep or hibernation.
Microsoft introduced the new concept "fast Startup" which improves the boot times for all the user to 30% to 70%.When the system shut down everything is unloaded which means it will loaded next time when the computer starts.
Windows 8 now hibernates the Kernel session instead of unloading it. Hibernation specially for those for those who don't know means that the session will be saved to the computer’s hard drive.

If you are operating a solid state drive on the another hand may want to know that the new fast booting technology requires between 10% to 15% of the system’s physical RAM as space on the hard drive to save the hibernation files.
