Sidekick 4G expected to | have supply shortages

Last week, everyone was treated with the official price and release date of T-Mobile’s Sidekick 4G, along with the T-Mobile G2x (which is now available for purchase online). T-Mobile’s new addition to the Sidekick family was announced to be available in stores on April 20, which is next Wednesday.

If you are getting this device next week, you should plan ahead and do it as early as you can, because according to our friends at TmoNews, there might be a shortage in supply the first 1-2 weeks. According to their source, this is due to “high customer demand and initial manufacturing limitations.”
Will people be so excited about the Sidekick 4G that it will go out of stock that quickly? Now that the T-Mobile G2x and the HTC Sensation 4G have come into the picture, it would seem like people would be more excited for the specs on those nifty superphones. Some of those specs are simply not necessary for many individuals out there though, and the Sidekick 4G may still have some followers. The Sidekick’s form factor may be something that you prefer afterall, and now that it comes with Android, it will be a whole other story! For some specs click here.
What do you guys think? Will you go for the Sidekick 4G, or one of the other new devices? Do you think T-Mobile is just “testing the waters” on the Sidekick 4G?
