HTC EVO 4G takes a bite out of Gingerbread | leaked Android 2.3.3 build hits the web

While some of you may still be debating HTC decision to not port HTC Sense 3.0 to their older phones, a leaked Android 2.3.3 test build for the HTC EVO 4G has surfaced on the web.   The leaked build initially showed up on911sniper but has quickly gained a home on XDA-Developers.  Even though it’s only been a few hours since the leak was discovered,

developers have already managed to work some magic and transform it into a bootable and fully functional ROM.
Though we’ve known since this morning that the EVO wouldn’t be getting any of the Sense 3.0 features, it’s certainly disappointing to see that the new Gingerbread build for the EVO doesn’t even feature some of the features found on the HTC Thunderbolt or the HTC Inspire 4G. As of now, the only new feature in HTC Sense that we’ve been able to spot in the Android 2.3.3 build is the Fast Boot hibernate feature which HTC introduced last fall with the Desire HD and Desire Z.
If you have a rooted HTC EVO 4G and want to get a taste of an official Gingerbread ROM for your handset, head on over to XDA-Developers and give it a try.  As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts on the new ROM.
