iPhone 5 Release Date Event in 14 Days Says Apple Rep
Apple typically spans about two and a half weeks from new iPhone announcement to release date, so expect Friday October 21st as the most likely on-sale target. If there’s sufficient initial inventory to allow it, online preorders will begin about a week before that date, but may be cut off quickly if demand proves to be so high that the preorders risk cutting into retail launch day inventory. Then on the 21st (or the night before, if Apple opts for an early morning launch), lines will form at retailers ranging from Apple Stores and carrier stores to electronics stores like Radio Shack and Best Buy, and we’ll soon find out just how much iPhone 5 inventory Apple really has on hand.
Apples iPhone 5 Media Event Scheduled for October 4
AllThingsD reports that Apple will be holding its highly-anticipated iPhone 5 media event on October 4th.
While Apple could certainly change its plans anytime, sources said that the October 4 date has been selected by the company to showcase the iPhone 5. Sources added that the plan is now to make the new device available for purchase within a few weeks after the announcement. The Loop's Jim

5th Generation Mobile (iphone5) Launching In September 5
There are many rumours about the 5th generation technology mobile phone that is iphone5,since its sibling Apple iPhone4 was launched. The highly awaited cellphone from Apple is slated for a September release.
The recent news show the signs that Apple iPhone5 will be shipped to United States in September which will be followed by a Global launch in October according to the rumours of iphone5.
Apple has asked its former employees to return as part time workers between August 15 and September 15. This indicates that Apple iPhone5 could be making an early entry. September has always been a preferred rumour month for Apple, as we have seen before many Apple products have been released in the month of September.
There are also many rumours that we might see Apple unveiling both Apple iPhone5 and iPod Touch 5 at the same time. Apple has always had an appetite of throwing surprises, so this keeps us guessing on what we could finally get to see in September.
Some of the specifications of Apple iPhone 5 are as follow:
Apple iPhone5 would be having an A5 processor and a powerful chipset, the iPhone5 will be having an 8-megapixel camera. This sleek and stylish Smartphone will run on iOS 5 operating system.
There are amazing features in iphone5 like photo sharing, improved messaging and many more. It is also rumoured that iphone5 will be having a voice control recognition that includes a native voice command application called Assistant.
Last week Apple’s CFO Peter Oppenheimer said in company’s earnings conference that lot was going on in the fall with the introduction of iOS 5 and iCloud. He said that they had a future product transition, but was not ready to talk about it at that point of time.

Apple Planning To Launch A Major Product On 10th Retail Anniversary Event
News coming out of various sources and BGR point to Apple launching a new product to fit in with the 10th anniversary of its retail stores.
VIA
With the anniversary coming on Thursday 19th, all Apple Stores will be undergoing special training, with some staff members working through Saturday night and into Sunday. New point of sale is being shipped to stores too, with all literature under lock and key until the time comes.
BGR has some information from a trusted source, with the highlights being:
- An overnight shift of around 15 employees is required for the Saturday night, with all mobile phones to be locked away and NDAs signed by all employees.
- Black window curtains will be in place while the stores are made ready to prevent prying eyes from getting an early glimpse of the work being carried out.
- Gigabytes of training information have been downloaded to stores with passworded files. Passwords will not be provided until a later date.
No word yet on what Apple has planned or if it extends to its online presence but we’ll be camped out ready to find out!
Any guesses?

Apple’s Next iPhone To Be Called iPhone 4S – Sprint/T-Mobile Support, A5, Similar External Design
A new report claims Apple’s next iPhone will be called the iPhone 4S, and it will feature ‘minor cosmetic changes.Business Insider reports that Jefferies analyst Peter Misek has put out a note on the next iPhone, claiming Apple will go for the ‘iPhone 4S’ moniker rather than go straight to iPhone 5.
Misek also lifts the lid on specifications: the iPhone 4S will include the dual-core A5 CPU just like the iPad 2, as well as improved cameras front and back. HSPA+ support will also be present this time around, while cosmetically not much will change, though ‘minor’ alterations are expected.
Of particular note are Misek’s remarks that the iPhone 4S will incorporate radios that make the handset compatible with Sprint and T-Mobile in the United States as well as bringing the handset to China Mobile. A T-Mobile version had been rumored before and Sprint support is a new one on us, though not entirely surprising.
Misek also reports Apple did intend to go for the 4G jugular with the iPhone 4S but the hardware was deemed to not be ready just yet, meaning the company opted to go for a more modest model update this year. Reports of multiple prototypes being tested have been doing the rounds for a while now, and it’s possible Apple has been testing a 4G iPhone but ultimately decided against it.
Analysts have been wrong before of course, and there are no reasons to believe this particular one is spot on with all his information, though equally there is no reason to distrust him either. The only fact we find ourselves not sure of is the claim Apple wanted 4G in the next iPhone, despite ‘real’ 4G not being rolled out by carriers properly just yet. Remember, this is the same Apple that brought the first iPhone to market with no 3G radio because they deemed it too early.

HBO Go app coming soon to Android and iOS devices
Time Warner’s Home Box Office (HBO) will now bring the HBO Go app to Android and Apple devices, including the iPhone and iPad. The HBO GO (for computers) was launched in February 2010 for cable subscribers to watch TV shows and movies on demand. The good news is, it’s free for HBO subscribers and gives you complete access to all episodes of your favorite shows.
The app allows you to stream content via 3G and Wi-Fi which means you’ll be able to watch loads of great quality content while on the go.With most streaming services, the video quality always comes under question, although we do hope its adeqate to not bother you while you watch your favourite action movie, but it cant be said for sure, but hey! as long as it doesn’t cost you a cent, many will find the service satisfactory anyway.
The website for HBO GO mentions that the current service (again, for computers) is only available in the US and requires a “High speed Broadband connection”, it further mentions that a connection of at least 3Mbps is required for HD viewing. Lets just keep our fingers crossed and hope that HBO offers its content in good quality.
Below you can find the video that HBO uploaded to its YouTube channel, the video introduces the features of this new app and confirms that the app will we launched soon this summer. [via Engadget]

Is Apple Delaying the Release of iPhone 5
Apple could be delaying the release of its unannounced generation iPhone from its typical summer debut to sometime in the fall due to the Verizon iPhone 4.
For the last four years, Apple has released a new version of the iPhone in June or July. And for the last three years, Apple has unveiled the phone at its Wordwide Developers Conference (WWDC), held sometime in June each year.
Earlier today, Apple announced the
dates for the next WWDC. The announcement was unusual though. Apple’s SVP of marketing didn’t say anything about new hardware; in fact, it was all about software. “At this year’s conference we are going to unveil the future of iOS and Mac OS,” he said in the company’s press release, making it sound as if a new iPhone wasn’t high on the company’s agenda for WWDC.
The Loop chimed in, claiming it has heard that WWDC will be “a software show in 2011, not a hardware event.” Adding fuel to the fire is a new report that claims Apple has yet to order components for the iPhone 5. Apple typically orders the parts for its phones six months in advance, so if this rumor is true, then Apple won’t have enough time to assemble enough iPhones for a June or July 2011 release, even if it started ordering parts tomorrow.
Instead, Apple may wait until September or October to release the iPhone 5, after its 2012 fiscal year begins. Apple’s current fiscal year ends on September 24. The upcoming smartphone is rumored to include a a bigger screen and better cameras and could feature NFC chip technology and a metal back.
The reason Apple may be waiting to launch the iPhone 5 could be the Verizon iPhone 4, which it announced in January and launched in February. The CDMA-version of the iPhone has given Apple more than 100 million potential customers, so the company could be avoiding a scenario where it shoots itself in the foot by releasing a new iPhone too early.
By delaying the iPhone 5′s launch, Apple can focus on acquiring new CDMA customers. A delayed release would also give Mas OS X Lion a more prominent role at this year’s WWDC.

iPhone 5 Rumor Roundup
Not since the first iPhone was rolled out in 2007 has there been so much chatter about one gadget. There have been so many rumors about the iPhone 5, it’s difficult to keep them all straight, but those talented French artists at Nowhere Else have laid them out for us here in beautiful style. Merci beaucoup, mes amis!
Be sure to check the blue progress bars for the likelihood of each one of these rumors to actually occur. They look mostly accurate to us, with one exception: After last night’s revelations about Sony’s involvement with the next iPhone’s image sensor from Sony’s Sir Howard Stringer, that 50% chance of a better camera seems like it ought to be around 80 to 90%.
Let us know in the comments if you think these predictions are accurate.
iPhone 5 To Sport 8 Megapixel Camera From Sony
In an interview with Walt Mossberg, Sony CEO Howard Stringer said one of the company’s Japanese factories had been affected by the earthquake and subsequent tsunami that struck the country. According to 9to5Mac, Stringer went on to say this factory was meant to be making camera sensors for Apple.
Speculation is now rife that Sony could be making an 8MP camera sensor for the iPhone 5, a rumor backed up by a report from TheStreet all the way back in April 2010. Then analyst Ashok Kumar said Sony had been signed by Apple to make the parts for the ’2011 iPhone’. Did Sony’s CEO let something slip in his interview?
Apple’s iPhone 4 currently sports a 5MP shooter, and it would make sense for the company to improve performance in the iPhone’s next iteration, if only to keep up with the slew of Android devices in the specification race.

iPhone 5 Leaked !
Two weeks ago, we published a report about some of the details of iPhone 5 leaked straight from the component suppliers of iPhone. According to the report, iPhone 5 will feature a 4 inch display. Later in that week, we presented you with a mockup of iPhone with a 4 inch display in same encasement. Quite honestly, that was one of the ugliest products Apple may ever produce and that is what led to the debate if Apple will be using the same encasement or larger.
A Chinese reseller of Apple’s parts has recently published an image of the digitizer panel of what it appears to be 5th generation iPhone’s. The part looks similar to that of iPhone 4 but with a larger cut for display to support 4 inch screen. If the leak is authentic, this may mean Apple is looking forward to fit the screen in the same encasement and your iPhones are probably going to look like this (I am not going to buy one if it does).
Reports also suggest that Apple has invested about $4B in some technological development which we are speculating to be in display technology to feature a larger screen on same encasement by getting the display to the edge of the phone. My only wish is they make it look lesser ugly than it does in the mock up.
