After Windows vista , Microsoft is set to release a major update to its Windows series of operating systems . The latest addition is windows 7 which said be a relief for the Microsoft from all criticism they received after release of Windows vista .
It was formerly known as Blackcomb, then Vienna and now Windows 7 . Though many says that it is completely different from Vista in performance and compatibility issues , I wonder if that could be possible by building Windows 7 in the same kernel .
The final version of Windows 7 will be available by the end of 2009 after beta testing and bug fixes that is recently on its way . Microsoft announced a download link for Windows 7 beta ,early this month and reports says that its available only for the first 2.5million users across the globe . The response windows 7 download link was awesome and even crashed the Microsoft servers . Microsoft fixed this problem and the public download was extended to the end of January .Here we have a direct download link for Windows 7 for quick access .
Direct Download link for Windows 7 64 bit edition
These two files are in ISO format and can be burned to a DVD (appx 2GB) using your Disk burning software . The current release of Windows 7 is only for testing and it will expire in 2-3 months .
Improvements I felt with current download of Windows 7 beta :
More Glossy appearance than Windows Vista .
Windows media Player 12 and Internet explorer 8 beta
Resource hog sidebar in Vista was removed .
Windows 7 has multi-touch support .
An action center which include some security and general preferences .
More options and improved office 2007 like appearance for Paint and Wordpad.
User account control added password feature for executing programs .
Little faster than Windows vista .
Overall experience was old wine in new pot .
System requirements for Installing Windows 7 beta is same as that of Windows vista ( 512mb and more).
Anyways , download Windows 7 and give it a try .And don't forgot to share your thoughts here .
