A German blogger has managed to run the new Windows 8 operating system on a memory stick. Moreover, the whole operation was performed on a MacBook Pro. Windows 8 can run on a 8GB of flash memory, using a Windows To Go application.



The discovery was made by a German blogger, he managed to run Windows 8 on a MacBook Pro. He was able to control all applications, documents and settings, as the new operating system from Microsoft would be installed on that laptop.

Fruit Ninja Kinect Releasing For Xbox 360 This Wednesday

Great news for fruit slicing n’ dicing fans from all over the globe: Fruit Ninja is coming to the Xbox 360 with Kinect integration this Wednesday.

Fruit Ninja is a video game in which players slice fruits by swiping on their device’s touch screen. Developed by Halfbrick, the game is available for a variety of platforms such as iOS, Android, Windows Phone 7, Bada OS and Nokia’s Symbian. It is one of the most popular video games in the portable gaming market having seen more than 20 million total downloads as of March, 2011.
Announced at E3 2011, Fruit Ninja’s first appearance on Microsoft’s Xbox 360 is all set for a release on Wednesday, August 10th. It is titled Fruit Ninja Kinect and will, as you can tell from the title, have deep integration with Microsoft’s motion sensing Kinect device. All the slicing action which was previously limited to input from a finger will now take input from the entire hand/arm of the players; this will not only make Fruit Ninja a lot more fun but also make it a whole lot more tiring than it ever was (which is not a bad thing, really!).

Windows XP has 1000 days until the end of extended support

Millions of users worldwide it will still use Windows XP, only that of 8 April 2014, they will not get media updates and improve services offered online by Microsoft. The Microsoft company officials say the best alternative for XP is Windows 7, the newest Microsoft operating system.

Microsoft demands Samsung to pay $ 15 for each sold smartphone

Samsung is trying to negotiate with Microsoft to reduce the amount of payment for Android smartphones, from 15 to 10 U.S. dollars / unit, because Android OS uses numerous Microsoft patents.

Samsung hopes to get a discount in exchange for strengthening the alliance between the two companies about Windows Phone software platform.

Windows 8 will have lower system requirements than Windows 7

This might be because Microsoft could try to create an operating system suitable for both tablets and for PCs. The result would be lower hardware requirements, knowing that a tablet has weaker hardware features than a computer.



Windows 8 is the codename for the next version of Microsoft Windows operating system.



According to officials, Windows 8 will be at the same level or even below, so users that are satisfied with how their PC's are running Windows 7, will certainly be satisfied and how to run future OS of the giant from Redmond on the same configuration.

Remember that the minimum system requirements for Windows 7:

- 1 GHz processor

- 1 GB RAM (for versions of OS 32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit version)

- 16 GB free space on HDD / SSD (32 bit) or 20 GB (64 bit)

- Video card with DirectX 9 and WDDM drivers or newer.



Microsoft is expected to reveal more information about Windows 8 at BUILD event, intended for developers, which will take place in September 2011.



Windows 8 will not replace Windows 7 but will be marketed in parallel. The launch of the OS will be in the summer of 2012. The RTM (Release to Manufacturer) version could be launched even in April 2012.

Microsoft's Tulalip social network response to Facebook and Google +

After Google launched it's own social network a short period ago, now on the web exists rumors saying that Microsoft leaked the information that it wil launch it's social network site.



This information was available thursday, on soci.com, a site owned by Microsoft.

Tulalip could be the Microsoft's company response to Facebook and Google+.



Based on the informations provided by Microsoft, Tulalip it will be able to search and share infos from Facebook and Twitter.



The disclosure, made accidentaly or not, came a few weeks after Google revealed it's social network.



Google + reached 10 mil users at 2 weeks after it's launch.

Microsoft To Buy Nokia’s Mobile Division Next Week?

Hot on the heels of their acquisition of Skype for $8.5 Billion, rumors now suggests that Microsoft is close to having a big deal of buying out Nokia’s mobile division.

The rumor comes from none other than the well known and respected Russian based technology analyst Eldar Murtazin, who believes that Microsoft and Nokia will announce the said deal deal as soon as next week.
With Nokia still struggling to match both Apple’s iPhone and Android devices in smartphone space, and likewise Microsoft still having not-so-good-looking sales figures for its Windows Phone 7 based devices, the deal probably will bring hope of improving ailing fortunes of both the companies.
Could this be the end of Nokia as we know it? We cant be sure at the moment of course. But ifsources of Murtazin are to believed, it could well possibly be it. It is also important to note here that Microsoft and Nokia have already announced a strategic partnership earlier this year according to which Nokia will be dumping Symbian and MeeGo in favor of Windows Phone 7 as the primary smartphone platform for its handsets.

Nokia and Microsoft sign definitive agreement, bring Windows Phone handsets closer to realization

Microsoft and Nokia's industry-altering announcement of a strategic alliance back in February has today been bolstered with the signing of a definitive agreement between the two companies. In announcing the inking of the paperwork, the Microkia crew point out that they're already hard at work developing "a portfolio" of 

Nokia Windows Phone devices, which will be shipping "in volume" in 2012, but there's still a twinkling hope that they can get something out on the market in 2011. Nokia devs have started porting key applications and services to Windows Phone, with mapping and navigation getting a highlight mention, while there will indeed be a "Nokia-branded global application store that leverages the Windows Marketplace infrastructure." Notably, this is described as a single portal where devs can serve their apps to users of Windows Phone, Symbian and Series 40 devices -- it'll be interesting to see how they work out the details of that. There's also confirmation that Microsoft will pay Nokia multiple billions of dollars as part of the agreement, some of which will be spent on completing an intellectual property-sharing agreement between the two teams. So yes, the third ecosystem is well and truly on its way.

Microsoft tests WP7′s and Android’s browsers speed | we’re not surprised about the results

At Microsoft’s MIX conference this morning, the company took the opportunity to briefly make some comparisons between Windows Phone 7 and Android. One of them was browser performance, something Microsoft has been talking a lot about recently with the launch of IE9. Windows Phone VP Joe Belfiore, took a moment to test a Microsoft-built benchmark on a WP7 phone, the iPhone, and the Nexus S. Unsurprisingly, the WP7 phone bested both the iPhone and the Nexus S by a significant margin.

Now, the simple fact that Microsoft made this benchmark should raise a big, red flag. The company doesn’t exactly have the best reputation in terms of honesty. I’ll believe Microsoft’s claims once I see WP7 beating Android in an independent, impartial, third-party benchmark. Until then, this is just part of the “war of words” Microsoft and Google are having right now. What do you guys think? Is something fishy going on?

Silverlight coming to Xbox, bringing WP7 games along with it!!!

Silverlight started as just a humble Flash competitor and now, well, it's all grown up. Almost, anyway. It's a fundamental part of the Windows Phone 7 ecosphere and word on the street is that it's about to become a fundamental part of the Xbox 360 world as well -- or a part, at least. Microsoft's MIX 11 developer event kicks off next week and rumor has it that Microsoft will unload a new tier of Silverlight compatibility



enabling apps on the company's console and there's the potential for writing apps that could run both on phones and on the console. That sounds like some utopian dream-world of the future, where wavey-arm Kinect antics replace touchscreen swipes, but the bigger question is does the Xbox 360 really need another app store? Will this co-exist with the XNA-developed titles or supersede them? Is this why Xbox developer boxes just got a lot cheaper? Might we finally get Angry Birds on our HDTVs? Such delicious ponderings.

The update of Windows Phone 7 February begins to reach terminals distributed in Spain, at least in the case of the HTC Vodafone Trophy, although this is not the strong upgrade, but a simple snack that will allow to install which should arrive this month of March with the copy and paste by flag. Recall that a few days ago we talked about a glitch which affected some users of Samsung phones after they had installed the latest update of Windows Phone 7. An update that would do nothing more than pave the way towards other much more significant update expected for this year (such as copy and paste), but that it was revealed dangerous for some terminals.


After Microsoft had withdrawn apologized, promising that he would become available within a short time. Since yesterday evening, however, the update is available again, and the problem has been fixed.

Microsoft addresses the challenge of creating software that run on different hardware from different manufacturers (a bit what with Microsoft in the PC) while Apple doesn't have to worry about this kind of problems, as has at most 3 device supported simultaneously by iOS  (Right now 2, since iOS 4.3 no longer supports the iPhone 3G). This does not mean that there are problems, just think of the silent alarm or belated which gave some headache last autumn and on new year's Eve.

Last January we informed you about the motion he had submitted Microsoft to the Office U.S. Patent and Trademark Office requesting that refused it to Apple 's award of the name "App Store" as a trademark , arguing that it was too generic a term that was used to refer to all mobile application stores and not just to the apple company.

Now it's up to the Office U.S. Patent and Trademark consider the case and determine if the motion of Microsoft have enough weight or else let the trademark go through the hearing for a final resolution in which it is granted (or not ) to Apple.

Apple has recently responded to a complaint from Microsoft on its own brand "App Store", claiming that the term "Windows" is, in reality, just as generic as their own.



Here's what Apple says:

After all the time it took for Microsoft to settle the trademark "Windows", this would be better not talk about it without judging whether a mark is generic or not.

But Apple did not stop here and so decided to call in question, Robert Leonard, a language expert, who stated that the term "App Store" is often used to mean just the store's digital home of the bitten apple, and not simply a generic. But his report did not stop here and, indeed, has accused Microsoft of using the word to indicate its Marketplace Store only in order to avoid the use of the mark App Store.

This will be considered and decided by the authorities in charge of the case, we await further developments.
