Facebook phone, closer and closer to launch. Heads of Facebook wanted to give it for free
Initially, Facebook phone should have cost nothing. Sources close to the company who worked on the phone told BusinessInsider that Facebook executives wanted to make a phone with its technological resources and then provide those phones for free to the social network users.
Facebook hoped that money will come from ads running on these phones. But when they discovered that each phone would produce costs of $700 to the company, they changed their mind.
For this reason Facebook has given up the idea to offer the phone for free.
According to quoted sources, the first phone that will come from Facebook will be launched in April, which is produced by HTC. Also, Facebook is preparing a second phone that will be launched in the next 12-18 months, which is probably produced by Samsung.

Facebook phone will be launched in...
Buffy appears earlier and will be followed by a second Facebook phone model.
After numerous attempts to penetrate the mobile market, Facebook made a deal with the Taiwanese from HTC to launch the first cell under the tutelage giant in Palo Alto, adapted to the needs of social network users. If a few days ago sources close to Facebook reported that the gadget name is Buffy and will appear in no more than 12-18 months, recent disclosures made to Business Insider launches in April 2012, earlier than previously believed.
The same source informs that the term of 12-18 months was expected for the launch of Buffy's successor, the second Facebook phone, which will be most likely designed in collaboration with Koreans from Samsung. It seems that it will hit the market at the end of 2012 or no later than early 2013. Attempts to create a Facebook mobile phone have suffered from developers such as LG or Motorola, but Google was the one that resulted in the project through his famous "Android". The latter is the main rival to Apple's iPhone, faithfully to the Twitter social network.
However, few are giving a vote of confidence to the Facebook phone. According to company sources, even those involved in the project are not too optimistic and not hopes not to break sales on the gadget market.

Google +, available for everyone. See what Google + has in addition to Facebook!
Google has launched, official, the social network Google + after several months of testing, in which access was limited.
Google + is one of the most ambitious projects of Google, trying to unseat the incredible success of the network created by Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook.
Google + comes with some brand new and revolutionary elements, and company representatives say that by this network, socializing becomes closer to the real. The user can create separate discussion groups with whom to talk or to share multimedia content, called circles. The service also comes with a chat with video features, so you can video chat with up to 9 people simultaneously.
Groups of friends can easily create and their discovery is made even easier by automatically connecting to multiple accounts simultaneously: Google, Yahoo, Facebook, Twitter or MySpace.
The number of features that Google + comes with is 100
Google + reinvents the search function. When a user wants to find something on the Internet, he can use the Sparks function, providing search results according to relevance and news about people in their circles, web news and public posts from Google +.
Users who have a Andoid phone can download the Google + application from Android Market on the phone and automatically upload photos directly from the phone into their personal account.

Facebok Vibes or Facebook Music service?
Facebook is preparing to implement a music service on the user pages, as a result of partnerships with Spotify, Mog, Rhapsody, Slacker and Rdio, according to Reuters citing sources close to the situation.
Until now, Facebook has declined to share informations related to the music platform. A few months ago, several technology blogs wrote that a programmer founded the code for a Facebook product called "Vibes".
The music platform could be presented at the Facebook conference, which will take place on 22 September. Facebook officials did not comment on the information. Although Facebook is the most popular social networking service, with more than 750 million users, founder Mark Zuckerberg wants to increase the number of users who are online on Facebook.
Thus, the music service is just one aspect of the strategy to improve Facebook, and is also expected that social network to partner with other multimedia producers such as movie studios.
Facebook music could get this in direct competition with other providers of streaming audio, domainated by by Apple's iTunes.

Social Sims might become the most popular game on Facebook
Social Sims, published last Thursday, has already 4.6 million daily users, according to AppData, a service of Inside Network traffic measurement. Social Sims online game is already in 10th place among the most used Facebook applications and 6th place among the most accessed Facebook games, surpassed by Zynga hits CityVille, Farmville, Empires & Allies, Texas Hold 'Em and Pioneer Trail.
Statistics shows very well, considering that Social Sims appeared only a week and all the data show that Social Sims could exceed Cityville, the leader of games on Facebook with 14 million daily players, sometime in September.
Variants before Social Sims sold over 140 million copies as proof that the game tends to cause "addiction" to its users. The difference between Sims Social and previous versions of Sims game is that the other Sims from the game belong to friends on Facebook.
Social Sims start by creating an avatar custom own Sim, which is placed in an environment that resembles a doll house. This environment can be extended by winning Simoleans and must be cared, fed, went to bed, the bathroom and must also answer "its social needs."

To receive the reward, however, users must comply with several conditions, including pay for the Facebook security team enough time to analyze the situation before making public the information.
Not all vulnerabilities reported will automatically qualify for the reward, there's some conditions. Among them, specify that errors should belong to Facebook, not an application that uses the social network, or on sites that use Facebook widgets.

FBapp For iPhone & Status Via For Android Lets You Update Facebook Status From iPhone 5G, Air Force One, Hogwarts
Those via iPhone, via Blackberry status updates are starting to get boring now. While there is no escaping them since Facebook includes them along with their native apps, you can set yourself apart by customizing the via message.
We talked about how to do this from a web browser last week. If you wish to pull of the same trickery using an Android smartphone or an iPhone/iPod touch/iPad, we’ve got the solutions: Status Via for Android and FBapp for iOS device.
Status Via for Android
After downloading, installing and launching the app from the link posted at the end, you must log in to Facebook. Once logged in, you can pretend to be posting the status update from any of the 50 supported devices/places included in the app.
From the app’s page on Android Market:
Status Via allows you to post status updates on Facebook under the guise of another device.Status Via for Android lets you update your Facebook status via the following: Banana Phone, Google+, PS3, Tin Cans Connected by String, Gameboy Color, Telepathy, Air Force One, IPhone 5G, Xbox LIVE, SNES, NASA Satellite, The Future, Pokedex, Typewriter, Pip Boy. Hogwarts, BMW iDrive, IPod Nano, The Moon, Nintendo Wii, GLaDOS, K.I.T.T. (Knight Industries Two Thousand), Mind-Computer Interface among others.
You’ve probably seen the "via Facebook for Android" and "via Facebook for iPhone" tags sitting underneath status updates. Well, you’ve probably also thought to yourself "Man, I wish I could have something a bit more… fulfilling in it’s place".
The developer promises to add pretend-places/devices to the app if you leave a nice enough review. Status Via is a free app and it supports all Android devices running versions 1.6 and up. You can download it from the link embedded at the end of the post.
FBapp for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad
FBApp (pronounced as F-bap, supposedly) lets you pull off the same trickery from an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad. Unfortunately it isn’t as simple to use as Status Via as you will have to manually enter App IDs from the post Oliver wrote. This, however, comes with the added benefit of customizability: once you set up your own app on Facebook, you simply enter its ID on FBapp and update your status from there allowing you have full control over the via <App Name> message.
Those via iPhone, via Blackberry status updates are starting to get boring now. While there is no escaping them since Facebook includes them along with their native apps, you can set yourself apart by customizing the via message.
FBApp is also free. You can download it from the link embedded at the end.
For both apps, this is the end result:It’s a one time thing, really. I don’t expect people to get fooled over this many times. Still, it’s a nice way to make your friends awe at how you managed to “hack” Facebook.

Make Your Facebook Account More Secure With ‘Login Approvals’
Security is high on everyone’s list of priorities these days, especially with Sony still battling to bring its PlayStation network and Qriocity services back online after a security breach potentially leaked millions of users’ personal information. Now Facebook is offering a new tool to try and prevent unauthorized access to your account.
You can turn on Facebook ‘Login Approvals’ feature under: Account Settings –> Account Security. Make sure you have your mobile phone on hand so that you can receive a code via SMS which is required to authenticate your computer.
As more individuals and businesses turn to Facebook to share and connect with others, people are looking to take more control over protecting their account from unauthorized access. Login approvals is a Two Factor Authentication system that requires you to enter a code we send to your mobile phone via text message whenever you log into Facebook from a new or unrecognized computer. Once you have entered this security code, you’ll have the option to save the device to your account so that you don’t see this challenge on future logins. If you are unfortunate enough to lose your registered mobile phone then fear not, for you will still be able to change your settings so long as you use a previously authenticated system.
